Description We are looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to join our team in Tacoma, Washington. This is a contract position with part-time hours, offering the opportunity to transition into a long-term role after April. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in individual tax returns, business and partnership filings, and a solid accounting background. Communication skills are essential, as you will engage with clients virtually while delivering high-quality work.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare individual tax returns with accuracy and attention to detail.

• Handle business and partnership tax filings, including S-corp and trust returns when applicable.

• Collaborate effectively with clients during virtual meetings to address tax-related inquiries.

• Ensure compliance with deadlines and maintain organized records of all tax filings.

• Utilize ProSeries software to manage tax preparation tasks efficiently.

• Apply accounting principles to support tax preparation processes.

• Demonstrate professionalism and presentability during client interactions.

• Assist in streamlining processes by identifying and implementing improvements.

• Stay updated on tax laws and regulations to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Provide dependable and motivated support to the accounting team. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in preparing personal tax returns.

• Proficiency in using Intuit ProSeries or similar tax software.

• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.

• Previous experience in public accounting is highly preferred.

• Knowledge of business and partnership tax returns, including S-corp and trust filings.

• High level of motivation and dependability to meet deadlines and deliver quality work.

• Familiarity with accounting operations and functions.
