    Summary You will serve as a LEAD SAFETY & OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST in the ENVIRONMENTAL, SAFETY, AND HEALTH OFFICE (CODE 106) of PSNS and IMF. Responsibilities You will provide technical expertise, guidance, mentoring, and development to the Project Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH) Management Team during the day to day operations and activities within their area of responsibility. You will articulation and communicate to the team the assignment, project, problem to be solved, actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues under review and deadlines and time frames for completion. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) as necessary for effective Project ESH Management during planning and shipboard execution phase to ensure operational continuity. You will coach the team in the selection and application of appropriate problem-solving methods; provide advice on work methods, practices and procedures; assist the team and/or individual members in identifying the parameters of solutions. You will train or arrange for the training of team members in methods and techniques of team building and working in teams to accomplish tasks or projects and provide or arrange for specific administrative or technical training necessary. You will maintain program and administrative reference materials, project files and relevant back-ground documents and make available policies, procedures, and written instructions from the supervisor. You will provide contract review and oversight to ensure service provided are in accordance with contractual requirements and directives for projects with an ESH interface. You will maintain continuous liaison with Code 106 Program Managers to remain current on existing and newly proposed directives. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: identifying and solving complex shipyard occupational health and safety issues by planning and evaluating Occupational Safety, Health and Environmental programs to prevent injuries, accidents, or loss to personnel or property in an industrial production environment.
