Description

The Regulatory Compliance Inspector will support all ICB Unit Supervisors in an investigative capacity when specific compliance issues arise that require a higher degree of institutional knowledge to resolve.

Minimum Requirements

Education: Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering in Civil, Environmental and/or Computer Engineering or the equivalent preferred but not required.

Experience: A minimum of ten (10) years of work experience within PVSC's Industrial Pretreatment Program along with comprehensive knowledge of the rules and regulations concerning discharges to the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission treatment works.

Requirements: Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position. Must be able to conduct water consumption/discharge studies, assess the accuracy of flow meters at entities throughout our district, and perform dye tests at industrial facilities and/or within the locally-owned sewer systems of our municipal partners. Must have a solid working knowledge of both PVSC's Geographic Information System (GIS) maps and collection system. Must be proficient in Industrial & FOG inspection work as well as have strong knowledge of PVSC's Industrial Pretreatment Program and User Charge obligations. Must understand Connections Unit regulations as they relate to the appropriate calculation of gallons discharged into the PVSC system.

Physical Demands: Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without a reasonable accommodation to ensure the health and safety of oneself and others are maintained. To perform the essential functions of this position the employee must be able to sit, stand, walk, stoop, climb (including ladders), kneel, lift up to 25 lbs., carry, reach, push, pull, use a keyboard and use tools. Must qualify for and possess the ability to perform entry into confined spaces while wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as, but not limited to, canister and dust masks, as well as Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), in compliance with PVSC's Facial Hair Grooming Policy.

The expected base pay range for this position is $104,212 to $130,250. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, education, training, and formal credentials.

Working Conditions: Workers are employed in conditions associated with a wastewater treatment plant and sewer collection system and will be required to work indoors and outdoors.
