Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team in Friendswood, Texas. In this role, you will manage various payroll functions, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely reporting. This is a Contract to permanent position within the Defense Service industry, offering the opportunity to grow professionally in a dynamic and structured environment.
Responsibilities:
• Review and verify daily employee timecards for discrepancies such as missing hours or punches.
• Save approved payroll-related requests in designated folders for record-keeping.
• Create and apply payroll deductions for personal use of company credit cards on a monthly basis.
• Check manager approvals in systems such as ServiceTrade and Procore to ensure payroll accuracy.
• Transition timecards to 'Completed' status once all required approvals are confirmed.
• Prepare and submit weekly certified payroll reports to contractors, adhering to compliance and project requirements.
• Maintain accurate certified payroll documentation and organize supporting files within appropriate project folders.
• Follow up with department managers to resolve payroll-related issues promptly.
• Process employee status changes, including new hires, transfers, and terminations, across multiple systems.
• Adjust employee balances in payroll systems based on approved requests and established policies. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in full-cycle payroll processing.
• Proficiency in handling multi-state payroll operations.
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now or similar payroll platforms.
• Ability to manage payroll for organizations with over 500 employees.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills for resolving payroll issues and coordinating with management.
• Familiarity with certified payroll reporting and compliance.
• Capability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
