The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) invites you to apply today to be considered for a position that provides customer service to the citizens of Maryland every day. MTA is one of the largest transit systems in the United States and is seeking dynamic and energetic individuals to join the MTA team!

     

    The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) is recruiting for Maintenance Control Clerks. The Maintenance Control Clerk prepares, establishes, and/or maintains files, records, and reports required of the Maintenance operation; operates standard office equipment to include personal computers (word processing, database, and spreadsheet applications), calculators, duplicating equipment, facsimile transmitters, and telephones; assists in the development and compilation of statistical maintenance operating data and performs mathematical calculations; reviews and verifies information contained on data processing reports and other documents pertinent to the maintenance department; responds to inquiries made by MTA authorities effectively and in a timely manner; maintains effective work relationships with other MTA departments and offices. Maintenance Control Clerks also may work variable hours at various locations and other duties as required.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a GED recognized by the State of Maryland.

     

    EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of clerical experience including data entry, filing, and record keeping. Knowledge of basic mathematical and payroll functions with skills in the use of adding machines, and computers. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (WORD; EXCEL) programs, as well as Outlook, or other comparable Email programs.

     

    NOTE: Applicants will be required to pass a written and data entry examination to determine adequacy of their qualifications.

    Applicants must submit a CURRENT copy of their Complete Driving Record (NOT more than 30 days old), (NOT the 36 months driving record) available from MVA with their application to be considered for this position.

     

    Licenses & Certifications

     

    Employees in this classification are assigned duties that require the operation of a motor vehicle for several hours each day.

     

    Employees will be required to possess a motor vehicle license valid in the State of Maryland.
