Description We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team in Orange, New Jersey. This Contract to permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to financial operations and reporting while leveraging your analytical expertise. The ideal candidate will excel in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end processes, and ensuring compliance with state funding requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial records are maintained.

• Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts to support month-end close processes.

• Analyze account balances and prepare detailed financial reports.

• Ensure compliance with Pre-K state funding requirements, including accurate reporting.

• Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel functions, such as V-Lookups and Pivot Tables, for data analysis and reporting.

• Perform bank reconciliations to verify account accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

• Reconcile accounts to ensure financial data integrity and compliance.

• Collaborate with the team to improve processes and support financial decision-making.

• Operate in-house systems to track and document financial transactions effectively. Requirements • Proven experience in preparing journal entries and managing general ledger accounts.

• Strong knowledge of month-end close procedures and financial reporting.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions like V-Lookups and Pivot Tables.

• Experience with account and bank reconciliations.

• Familiarity with state funding requirements and compliance standards.

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial documentation.

• Ability to work on-site Monday through Friday and adapt to team collaboration.

• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
