About this role:
The Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) Operations Control organization serves as the first line of defense in risk management, holding direct accountability for identifying, assessing, and effectively managing risks and controls across its supported business groups. This team plays a critical role in ensuring that internal controls, processes, and procedures are not only adequate but also operating effectively to safeguard the organization.
CIB Ops Control is responsible for providing executive management with clear visibility into risk exposures, emerging trends, and control effectiveness. The team also partners closely with business leaders and stakeholders to embed risk and control awareness into strategic initiatives and operational execution. Through proactive engagement, the group supports enterprise-wide projects by identifying potential risks and recommending practical, sustainable control solutions.
As a member of the CIB Ops Control team, this role will provide hands-on support for key risk programs, including Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), Issues Management, Operational Risk and Key Indicators (ORKI), business enablement, and other enterprise-aligned risk initiatives. Crucial to the role is a strong understanding of risk and control frameworks and the ability to translate complex risk concepts into actionable insights for business partners.

Success in this role hinges on the ability to navigate a highly matrixed environment, build strong relationships with senior leaders across CIB Operations Control and CIB Operations, and collaborate with risk, control and operational partners across the enterprise to shape and implement effective risk and control management strategies.
In this role, you will:
+ Lead control coverage for **market maker clearing** build out and partner with CIB Ops **Prime Brokerage** business and CIB Ops BCM team, new products, fraud, and related CIB Operations lines of business
+ Serve as a Business Control Management (BCM), applying deep product/process knowledge to drive effective risk strategies, define risks, set controls and governance, and enable monitoring, reporting, audit, and regulatory readiness.
+ Drive ORKRI performance measures and streamline/automate control processes.
+ Lead control assessments aligned to enterprise frameworks; support RCSA and Issues Management governance.
+ Maintain and enhance the Business Process Inventory (BPI) and integrate RCSA, triggers, testing, audit, and regulatory outputs.
+ Design, implement, and monitor controls aligned to risk appetite; perform root-cause analysis on OREs to enable durable remediation.
+ Improve control documentation (design/performance rationales, MCR narratives) and manage RCSA triggers and the Issues lifecycle.
+ Engage with operations on strategic changes/new products; support audits/regulatory exams and provide actionable risk insights.
+ Lead complex, cross-functional risk resolutions; advise senior leaders; mentor project/virtual teams.
Required Qualifications:
+ 7+ years of Risk Management or Financial Services Industry experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
+ Knowledge and understanding of internal controls and internal control policy
+ Strong domain knowledge of Investment banking operations is desirable
+ Ability to synthesize data and/or observations from a variety of, often disparate and unconnected, sources, deliver succinct summaries (both verbal and written), and enact responses quickly
+ Exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills to effectively influence all organizational and leadership levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are a must
+ Highly organized and proactive with demonstrated ability to assess, exercise independent judgment, apply prudent risk management principles, prioritize work to meet deadlines, and proactively escalate when necessary
