This role focuses on developing and managing Health Language content—including value sets and clinical decision support (CDS) rules—to enable risk adjustment suspect identification, recapture workflows, and prior authorization logic. You will collaborate with product, engineering, and payer stakeholders to deliver standards-compliant solutions that optimize clinical and financial workflows. Key Responsibilities

Design and maintain clinical terminology assets (value sets, mappings, hierarchies) for risk adjustment workflows.

+ Develop CDS and documentation rules to guide providers toward accurate coding and documentation for HCCs and other risk-adjusted conditions.

+ Incorporate Wolters Kluwer assets (UpToDate, Medi-Span, Health Language) into integrated solutions for competitive advantage.

+ Build features such as suspected diagnosis identification, actionable alerts, medication guidance, and documentation prompts for provider workflows.

+ Collaborate with engineering to ensure standards compliance (HL7 FHIR, SNOMED CT, ICD-10-CM, RxNorm) and interoperability.

+ Explore AI-driven approaches for suspect detection and workflow optimization.

+ Lead the Health Language Content Team, establishing systematic processes for terminology governance and decision-making.

+ Apply clinical informatics principles to terminology management and CDS design.

+ Serve as a subject matter expert for clinical terminology and informatics to Product and Engineering teams.

+ Represent Wolters Kluwer in standards and policy forums (HL7, AMIA, HIMSS, CHAI) to influence industry direction.

+ Oversee user acceptance testing and validation of terminology-driven features.

+ Conduct strategic data analysis to measure impact on risk adjustment accuracy and provider adoption.

    Skills & Expertise

+ Clinical Terminology Management: Deep knowledge of SNOMED CT, ICD-10-CM, RxNorm, LOINC, and value set development.

+ Clinical Informatics: Ability to design CDS rules and workflows aligned with provider behavior and regulatory requirements.

+ Data Analysis: Proficiency in evaluating clinical and claims data to inform suspect logic and measure outcomes.

+ Standards & Compliance: Familiarity with HL7 FHIR, interoperability frameworks, and payer-provider data exchange requirements.

+ Leadership & Communication: Strong ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate complex informatics concepts to executives.

+ Medical degree (MD/DO) plus graduate degree in Health Informatics or related field.

+ Experience in clinical informatics, terminology management, and risk adjustment programs.

+ Proven ability to lead content development and integration projects in healthcare technology.
