    Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, Cold Room/Freezers -22degreesF/-6degrees C, Fluctuating Temps hot/cold, Loud Noises (Equipment/Machinery), Office, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.), Strong Odors (chemical, lubricants, biological products etc.), Various outside weather conditions, Will work with hazardous/toxic materials

    How do we make an impact?

     

    Unity Lab Services provides integrated lab service, support, and supply management. Our customized offerings and experienced service teams flex to meet each customer’s unique laboratory needs.

     

    What will you do?

     

    + Travel to multiple customer facilities across the Greater Boston region (70–80% travel) to support scheduled and unscheduled coverage needs.

    + Manage inventory: stockrooms, POU areas, and product dispensing.

    + Support order entry, order expediting, and customer service requests.

    + Handle chemical management including receiving, registration, and tracking.

    + Perform glass wash operations from cleaning through sterilization and inspection.

    + Support dock, receiving, and shipping activities.

    + Drive a culture of process improvement.

    + Perform additional duties as assigned.

     

    How will you get here?

    Education

    + High school diploma or GED required.

    + Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.

    Experience

    + Customer service experience required.

    + 1+ year of experience in a laboratory environment preferred.

    + Knowledge of OSHA General Industry standards preferred.

    + GxP experience and IATA/DOT certification are a plus.

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

    + Reliable transportation.

    + Strong communication skills and a commitment to excellent customer service while upholding Thermo Fisher values.

    + Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong organizational skills.

    + Ability to work safely and adapt to varied work environments.

    Physical Requirements / Work Environment

    + May work in areas where chemical-based allergens are present.

    + Required PPE may include lab coats, coveralls, hoods, masks, hairnets, gloves, steel-toe shoes (required for all colleagues), bump hats, and safety glasses.

    + Regularly lift 30–40 lbs; occasionally up to 50 lbs.

    + Use equipment such as pushcarts, pallet jacks, cylinders, and forklifts; may push/pull up to 100 lbs.

    + Long periods of standing, walking, and material handling.

    + Work in varied temperature environments (cold rooms, outdoors, etc.).

    + Ability to work overtime or independently as needed.

    Compensation and Benefits

     

    The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $20.00–$26.50.
