Responsibilities

Manages and directs the activities of the Sterile Processing Department/Perioperative Reprocessing for the purpose of providing sterile and non-sterile supplies, equipment, and service for the care and treatment of patients, utilizing knowledge of aseptic techniques and body mechanics. Adherence to all regulatory requirements is a critical competency both for infection control and staff safety.

Compensation range for this role is $75,518.-$90,621. annual salary

Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits. When determining a team member’s compensation and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity)

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

+ High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree preferred.

Minimum Experience:

+ Three to five years’ hospital experience in Sterile Processing or Operating Room working as a Sterile Processing Technician, with previous charge or lead technician experience required.

+ Materials Management experience is a plus.

Required Certification/Registration:

Central Sterile Technician Certification is required by International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) or the Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician credential administered by the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD).

Physical Requirements:

Travel to multiple facilities is required.
