    Job Title: Structural Analysis Engineer

     

    Type: Contract

     

    Contractor Work Model: Remote

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Analysis Engineer to apply their technical expertise in performing civil structural analyses and design for both Nuclear Safety-Related and Non-Safety-Related structures. The ideal candidate will possess a strong design background with proficiency in structural concrete and steel analysis and design. You will have the opportunity to lead key technical activities and provide invaluable mentorship to less experienced engineers, making a significant impact in our dynamic team environment.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    As a Structural Analysis Engineer, you will:

    + Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the primary expert in civil structural design, adept at resolving technical challenges, coordinating cross-disciplinary discussions, and working closely with the management team to assess project impacts.

    + Innovative Solutions: Engage in intricate projects across diverse areas, proposing innovative design solutions that require critical independent judgment.

    + Technical Advancement: Develop and enhance the technical expertise of our team by integrating advanced engineering capabilities to align with strategic goals.

    + Structural Design: Utilize established engineering tools and adhere to relevant standards to design Nuclear Safety-Related and Non-Safety-Related structures, encompassing post-analysis processing for various materials, including concrete and steel.

    + Regulatory Support: Collaborate with licensing teams to support regulatory efforts both domestically and internationally.

    + Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work with other engineering disciplines and structural consultants to ensure the effective coordination of design activities and the resolution of technical complications.

    + Mentorship Role: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering their development and supporting the team's technical initiatives.

    + Documentation Development: Prepare and review requirements documents, methodology documents, design reports, and technical studies.

    + Communication: Exhibit strong written and oral communication skills, regularly interacting with contractors and regulatory bodies to ensure clarity and compliance.

    + Additional Responsibilities: Undertake other duties as assigned to support organizational goals.

    MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, AND ABILITIES:

    + Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution is required; an advanced degree is preferred. A registered professional engineer license (P.E.) is highly desirable.

    + Experience: A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience as a Structural Design Engineer, with strong technical writing, communication, computer, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with multiple phases is essential.

    + Proficiency in the design and analysis of concrete and steel structures and experience with finite element analysis software.

    + Familiarity with relevant codes such as ASCE 43, ASCE 4, ACI 349 & 318, ASCE 7, IBC, and AISC N690.

    + Experience with design software such as ANSYS and SAP2000 is preferred.

    + Computer programming skills (e.g., Matlab or Python) are a plus.

    + Industry Requirements: Candidate must be eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810 regulations.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    This position requires:

    + Clear communication using phone and personal interaction.

    + Quick comprehension of new concepts and functions in a fast-paced environment.

    + Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and the ability to use office equipment.

    + Occasional travel nationally and locally using standard transportation.
