About the role
As a Cloud Administrator specializing in Containers and DevOps, you will make an impact by building secure, scalable, and highly available cloud environments that power critical healthcare applications and protect patient data. In this role, you’ll lead automation initiatives, streamline deployment processes, and implement cloud and container solutions that enhance system reliability, efficiency, and compliance. Success requires a blend of hands-on technical expertise and strategic architectural insight, along with opportunities to mentor teams and shape cloud practices across the organization. You will be a valued member of the Cloud Infrastructure and Security team and work collaboratively with the Senior Manager.
In this role, you will:
•Deploy, configure, and maintain cloud infrastructure on Azure, AWS, or GCP, ensuring high availability, cost efficiency, and scalability for healthcare applications.
•Design, implement, and manage containerized solutions using Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift, including orchestration, monitoring, and scaling to support mission-critical services.
•Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for automated application build, test, and deployment using Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps, reducing deployment lead times and improving reliability.
•Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation to automate provisioning, configuration, and updates, ensuring consistency across environments.
•Continuously monitor system performance, proactively troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements to maintain 99.9% uptime and operational efficiency.
•Enforce cloud and container security standards and compliance policies, including HIPAA, HITRUST, and other healthcare regulations.
•Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to streamline workflows, improve deployment frequency, and implement scalable, repeatable processes.
•Maintain comprehensive documentation, operational procedures, and best practices; mentor junior team members and promote knowledge sharing.
•Evaluate emerging cloud, container, and DevOps technologies and recommend innovative solutions to enhance system performance, automation, and security.

What you need to have to be considered
•10+ years of professional experience in cloud administration, DevOps, and container orchestration.
•Hands-on experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP cloud platforms.
•Strong expertise in Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration tools.
•Proven experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.
•Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.

•Deep understanding of networking, cloud security, compliance, and healthcare regulations (HIPAA, HITRUST).
•Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex issues, optimize performance, and deliver measurable impact.
•Strong collaboration, communication, and mentoring skills; able to work effectively in cross-functional agile healthcare teams.
•Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or cloud-native solutions

Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until January 15, 2026
The annual salary for this position is between $114,000 - $133,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
