Description
We’re looking for a skilled Technician, Senior Electrical, who takes pride in keeping our community’s critical infrastructure running safely and reliably.
In this role, you’ll work hands-on with the electrical systems that keep our water and wastewater treatment plants operating smoothly.
You’ll be an important part of the Utilities team—working independently in the field and alongside operators, maintenance crews, engineers, and supervisors to make sure each job is done safely, correctly, and on schedule.
Duties and Responsibilities
What You Will Do
+ Keep essential water/wastewater treatment systems running. Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment at treatment plants and remote sites, ensuring all work meets safety standards and electrical codes.
+ Solve complex electrical problems. Diagnose and repair issues with a variety of electrical systems and equipment including variable frequency drives (VFDs), soft starts, and motor actuated valves.
+ Perform preventive maintenance. Carry out scheduled inspections, testing, and service to extend equipment life, reduce downtime, and keep facilities operating efficiently.
+ Use professional diagnostic tools. Operate and interpret multimeters, meggers, oscilloscopes, and other testing equipment to verify performance and pinpoint system issues.
+ Read and follow technical plans. Interpret schematics, blueprints, and engineering documents to complete installations, repairs, and troubleshooting accurately.
+ Make sound technical decisions in the field. Work independently, communicate clearly with your team and supervisors, and provide updates to ensure safe and coordinated operations.
Education, Experience, Licensing
Education & Experience:
+ High School Diploma or GED.
+ 4 years of experience working with electrical systems (experience with wastewater systems is a plus).
+ Knowledge of electrical codes and safety standards.
+ An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
Licensing:
+ A valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
