Job Description Summary
**Position** : The Department of Psychological Sciences at Auburn University invites applications for a non-tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level beginning in the upcoming fall semester, August 16, 2026.
**Responsibilities** : Candidates will contribute to the education and training of graduate students in the clinical psychology program, including teaching courses in the candidate’s area of expertise that emphasize clinical training in intervention and assessment across the lifespan. Candidates are expected to provide high quality clinical supervision in treatment and psychoeducational assessment, and support the oversight of graduate students within an on-campus community facing training clinic for clinical psychology graduate students, the Auburn University Psychological Services Center (AUPSC ). Candidates are expected to maintain up to date knowledge of practice and supervision within the field of clinical psychology, maintain and build specialty practicum experiences within their area of expertise, and contribute to a respectful and supportive learning and working environment. The ability to teach graduate assessment courses is strongly desired. Candidates will contribute to the oversight of daily operations within the training clinic, including supporting on-site supervision needs, policy development, and training.
Minimum Qualifications
**Minimum Qualifications** : Candidates must have a doctoral degree Ph.D. in Psychology or closely related field from anAPA -accredited program and be license eligible in Alabama. The successful candidate will bring a commitment to high-quality teaching and supervision, evidence-based training, and program development. Outstanding candidates who are in the final stages of dissertation writing (ABD ) will be considered but must have Ph.D. by the start date or offer will be withdrawn.

Auburn University’s clinical program adheres to a scientist-practitioner training model and offers state-of-the-art resources for clinical research, including excellent graduate students, ample laboratory space, access to the Auburn UniversityMRI Research Center, the Auburn University Psychological Services Center, and other facilities. The clinical program has beenAPA -accredited since 1981, and in 2019 we were awarded the maximum accreditation period of 10 years. We have 11 primary faculty and two affiliated faculty with areas of expertise across the lifespan that include internalizing disorders, externalizing disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, eating disorders, trauma, suicide, and substance use disorders.
