    IS Engineer-MES (Bilingual Japanese-English) $80,500 - $87,500

     

    _Compensation for the role will be based on a number of different factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, education, knowledge, skills and experience. This is NOT a remote position._

    Summary

    The IS Engineer for MES will be responsible for implementing best known methods for MES structures and implementing change control. Works with MES team members on sustaining the modeling and infrastructure to support the company’s MES system. Acts as liaison between Japanese based system vendors.

    Job Duties

    Works with MES team on setting up and customizing MES software for specific manufacturing needs.

     

    Analyzes, designs, develops and modifies complex application of large scope projects impacting multiple departments/systems.

     

    Works on connecting MES with automation tools like SCADA, and PLC systems for seamless data flow.

     

    Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

     

    Interacts with senior internal and external personnel. Presents information to end users, management and functional areas.

     

    Creates project plans and timelines for complex systems.

     

    Provides status to end users and team members. Provides consultation to internal customers in multiple functional areas.

     

    Maintains vendor/contractor contact to coordinate new systems installations or enhancements. Acts as liaison between Japanese vendors.

     

    Ensures data integrity, developing metrics, and supporting reporting.

     

    Provides functional requirements and systems documentation.

     

    Translates and creates presentations and documents in both English and Japanese languages.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Fluent in both Japanese and English languages.

     

    Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.

     

    Experience with needs analysis, programming, documentation and troubleshooting.

     

    Experience working on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.

     

    Ability to use standard methods to read/write for a relational database; knowledge of multiple data retrieval methods and best method for data access.

     

    Minimum 2 years experience or training using a high level language.

     

    Excellent communication, problem-solving, project management, analytical thinking, and teamwork.

     

    Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.

     

    Demonstrated ability to present accurate, concise, and complete information in written forms and in oral presentations.

     

    Demonstrated planning, organizational, and project management skills.

     

    Strong attention to detail.

     

    Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Experience

     

    Experience working in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge on automation systems.

     

    Working knowledge of equipment integration techniques. Experience with MES software , SQL, databases, C#.NET, and reporting tools (Power BI).
