About this Job
The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) is responsible for managing and protecting the state’s renewable natural resources, including all wildlife and aquatic life. LDWF supports a strong work ethic in its employees and incorporates the use of good science, accurate information and technology. The Office of the Secretary exists to provide leadership and support services, administrative direction, and accountability for departmental programs; administrative direction and leadership to ensure the success of subordinate programs; and department-wide coordination, communication, personnel and basic resources needed to accomplish the department’s mission.

Minimum Qualifications
Three years of experience in administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR
A bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
+ Assisting the public with questions and concerns
+ Enter and manage data across multiple systems
+ Work on time-sensitive projects and assignments
+ Prepare, update and maintain case files and documents
+ Run reports and track program activity
+ Collect and maintain statistical data
+ Answer phone calls and emails
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment. A job appointment may be converted to a probationary appointment should funding become available.
Compensation: The level at which the vacancy is filled will be determined by the qualifications of the candidate selected. This position provides the opportunity to advance within this job series. The actual starting salary depends on the education and experience of the selected applicant.
