    Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.

     

    + Prior experience navigating assigned routes and managing multiple pick-up locations.

    + Knowledge in operating compactors and forklifts.

    + Read, interpret and understand work orders.

    + Lift 40 pounds alone and 80 pounds with help.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Ability to establish and build a rapport with a variety of people.

    + Monitoring equipment and vehicles.

    + Critical thinking skills to solve problems and make processes more efficient.

    + Ability to read and understand equipment manuals.

    Job Description

    This position is responsible for assisting in maintaining Texas State’s recycling program by pick-up of recyclable material campus wide.

    Job Duties

    + Run recycling routes.

    + Pick up of recyclable material on campus including emergency pick-ups.

    + Processing of recyclable material collected on campus.

    + Work special events.

    + Train student/temporary employees on recycling routes and use of equipment.

    + Track labor log hours for self and crew.

    + Ensures work time is recorded on proper job codes.

    + Maintain equipment and vehicles that are used on a daily basis.

    + Ensure attendance of all required University training.

    + Support and assist recycling and waste management coordinator in program operations.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.
