More Reasons to Join the Team

As an R&D Design Engineer III with PCB, you'll join a creative, hands‑on engineering sandbox where we design and prototype the next generation of sensors used by some of the world’s top technology companies. You’ll push the limits of what sensor technology can do through a mix of analysis, experimentation, and rapid exploration. Your work may take you into areas such as design optimization, advanced materials, electro‑mechanical packaging miniaturization, manufacturing innovations, and new calibration system concepts—while giving you the freedom to chase ideas that genuinely excite you.

+ Engage in hands-on, curiosity-driven experimentation to advance new sensor concepts in a relaxed, creative R&D environment.

+ Collaborate with a tight-knit team while also having the freedom to independently explore new ideas and solve challenging electro‑mechanical problems.

+ Lead fast-moving R&D efforts to prototype and industrialize next‑generation sensing technologies.

+ Act as a go‑to technical resource for design engineers, offering practical insights and creative problem‑solving.

+ Dive into real‑world sensor applications to uncover opportunities for new or improved designs.

+ Validate concepts through a mix of analysis and physical experimentation.

+ Use both hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to evaluate designs and guide development.

+ Build and run physical experiments—sometimes scrappy, sometimes sophisticated—to generate clean, actionable data.

+ Pursue technical areas that genuinely interest you; our group encourages exploration, tinkering, and self‑driven innovation.

    Additional Duties:

+ Determines the feasibility of complex designs, considering costs, time limitations, planning, and other technical and economic factors.

+ Possesses knowledge of and experience with mechanical and electrical design inputs. Understanding of the causal relationships of product design to performance and product cost and can modify product designs accordingly.

+ Understanding of 6 Sigma methodologies, such as a design (IDOV) and continuous improvement (DMAIC) tools.

+ May prepare and/or present technical papers and participate in industry symposia. Follows PCB NPD procedures in compliance to ISO9001.

    Minimum Qualifications:

+ Education: Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

+ Experience: 10 years of relevant design engineering experience or 8 years of relevant design engineering experience with a Master’s degree. Relevant experience should include a basic understanding in one or more areas such as solid mechanics, dynamics of a spring-mass-damper system, vibration, shock, Piezoelectric, MEMS or acoustics and basic understanding of data acquisition and signal processing. CAD 3D modeling software experience.

+ Basic computer/AI skills, precision component and assembly design experience. Electro-mechanical assembly design experience. Experience with tolerance analysis, sensor design, application knowledge and material/metallurgy properties, selection and processing, Microsoft Office software.

    + Travel Requirement: As needed

    Preferred Qualifications:

+ CAD Modeling Software experience include AutoDesk Inventor preferably.

+ FEA Software experience, Ansys preferred

    Additional Benefits:

+ 100% Company Paid Medical Insurance Premiums for you and your family

    + Dental and Vision Insurance

+ Company funded HSA or HRA Accounts

    + Paid Time Off
