Are you a dedicated pharmacy technician seeking an exciting opportunity in a dynamic, supportive healthcare environment? UPMC West Shore is hiring a full-time Pharmacy Technician to support patient care across all age groups. This role works primarily daylight and evening shifts, with hours that may vary based on department needs.
Under the supervision of a pharmacist, you will assist with the preparation, dispensing, charging, and delivery of medications, playing an important role in safe, high-quality care.

+ Pharmacy Technician: $19.74 - $29.67

Responsibilities:
+ Repackage, prepare, label, and document medications, including non-sterile compounds and IV solutions, under pharmacist supervision.
+ Accurately fill, label, and distribute medications, ensuring pharmacist review prior to dispensing.
+ Deliver medications to patient care areas and manage transfers, returns, and removals as needed.
+ Stock, refill, and maintain automated dispensing cabinets.
+ Handle controlled substances in compliance with established procedures.
+ Inspect medication areas and remove expired or recalled products with proper documentation.
+ Complete required documentation, including charges, credits, logs, and interdepartmental orders.
+ Use pharmacy equipment and technology, including computers, pneumatic tube systems, and dispensing devices.
+ Provide customer service support by answering phones, assisting staff, and monitoring pneumatic tube stations.
+ Maintain a clean, safe pharmacy environment and collaborate with nursing, physicians, and hospital staff.
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ Employment experience required (one of the following is required):
+ Prior pharmacy technician experience
+ College Degree (minimally an Associate's degree) and previous related healthcare experience
+ Completion of a formal pharmacy technician certificate course
+ Completion of one full year of education at a college/university with an accredited school of pharmacy and enrolled in coursework working towards a Doctor of Pharmacy degree
