Responsibilities You will manage space and facilities projects including the planning, designing, and overseeing of renovation and construction projects. You will review construction drawings and specifications to ensure compliance, analyzing cost estimates, and resolving issues from preliminary design through construction. You will coordinate the efforts of various entities to ensure timeliness in the accomplishment of the construction plan. You will visit work sites to review and provide progress updates, discuss problems and develop solutions. You will create and coordinate detailed move schedules and phasing plans related to construction or renovation projects. You will monitor productivity and potential problem areas pertaining to space and facilities management in order to implement solutions. You will conduct on-site space utilization surveys and implement actions, as required, to ensure the full and efficient use of assigned space You will read and interpret scaled design contract drawings and floor plans, blueprints, and shop drawings. You will assist with management of contracts from the acquisition planning process throughout the warranty period. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 pay band (GS-11 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Managing space and facilities projects including planning, designing, and overseeing renovation and construction projects, reviewing construction drawings and specifications to ensure compliance, analyzing cost estimates, and resolving issues from preliminary design through construction. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled. Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees.
