    ASSISTANT COOK

    Washington County Correctional Facility* is currently accepting applications forAssistant Cook. Duties of this position involve assisting in the preparation of food. The work is performed under the general supervision of a Cook or Cook-Manager and on occasion supervision may be exercised over Food Service Helpers. Does related work as required. Typical duties include assisting in preparation of salads, desserts & other food; cuts, cleans & dresses, meat & fish; cleans, washes & prepares vegetables & fruits; packages food for Meals on Wheels program; sweep, mops & cleans kitchen as needed; serves hot food as needed. Physical condition suitable to demands of position.

     

    Minimum Qualifications : Graduation from high school or possession of equivalency diploma (GED) or 6 months of experience working in a kitchen environment.

    Special Requirements :

    *Must be able to pass a background check for work in a Correctional Facility.

    *After appointment will be required to complete mandatory training in accordance with USDA Professional Standards (ie. ServSafe)

     

    Rate of pay : $17.65/hour plus excellent benefits
