Summary:
In this role, you will manage the full lifecycle of data within Meta’s Data Center build-out, shaping how data is created, introduced, and transformed. As part of the Data Science team, you will collaborate with business stakeholders, data center operations, data engineers, and data scientists to develop data quality standards, establish effective stewardship workflows, and implement comprehensive governance for asset master data. You will also be responsible for implementing the necessary technical capabilities and systems to support these objectives. Your efforts will ensure consistency, reliability, and scalability in master data management, supporting Meta’s ongoing growth. You will translate business needs into data requirements, identify opportunities for efficiency, and use your expertise to build a data dictionary and governance playbook, leading their implementation across the Data Center lifecycle. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in ambiguous environments and creating impactful solutions from the ground up within a fast-paced team. This position is part of the Infrastructure Data Center (IDC) team.

Master Data Management Lead Responsibilities:
1. Design and implement a master data governance process and strategy to Meta’s data center lifecycle in partnership with our business and operational team across IDC
2. Operationalize and document, in the data dictionary and playbooks, the processes for the creation and modification of data in order to define business rules and foster data quality and governance
3. Create and implement data definition and mapping based on SME and data science team guidance
4. Engage & influence partner teams on the MDG strategy align on the new process and set the ground for implementation
5. Influence business teams to build a foundation of data and ensure data quality through process standardization
6. Collaborate with data engineers, solution engineers & subject matter experts to define data integration needs and standards, and implementation roadmaps
7. Implement data governance process, work through change management and enable IDC to operate in a more effective way at scale

8. 7+ years of technical leadership experience, leading cross functional teams & efforts through solution design, planning & implementations
9. 7+ years of data management & governance experience, designing and implementing master data governance solutions in a data rich environment with several layers of complexity
10. Experience with master data management, data integration, data governance, data analysis, or data quality to support cross-functional business teams
11. Experience data profiling, fuzzy matching, or master data hierarchy definition (for Assets, Inventory, product, supplier, location, etc.)

12. Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field
13. Experience with master data management & governance tools such as Collibra, Informatica, SAP MDG, Reltio, TIBCO, or other industry-used tools
14. Understanding of data centers and operations, cloud operations, facilities management, engineering, and construction
Public Compensation:
$125,000/year to $178,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
