    2026 Summer Intern - CMG DDA - Data Science

    Department Summary

    The Genentech Graduate Internship Program is an intensive 10-12 week opportunity that provides work within a fast-paced and challenging environment. Interns contribute to meaningful projects, interacting and working side by side with biotech industry experts. Our internship program also provides a robust speaker series, which allows interns to hear from top executives throughout the summer. Genentech relies heavily on our internship talent pool to fill full-time positions.

     
     

    This internship position is located in South San Francisco, CA, On-site.

    The Opportunity

    + Brand-Level Knowledge Graph Development: This project will connect directly with Genentech’s commercial operations and focuses on experimenting, at a brand-level pilot scale, with advanced AI technologies to enhance Genentech’s foundational capability of knowledge creation, integration, refreshing, and consumption.

    + High-Fidelity Medical Content Synthesis & Retrieval: This project will focus on pushing the limit of RAG for professional-level applications of LLM and other relevant Generative AI technologies in the healthcare domain.

    + Time-Series-Based Forecasting: This project will leverage latest AI technologies to build scalable pipelines for forecasting with the capabilities of scenario simulation and planning.

    Program Highlights

    + Intensive 12-week, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship

    + Program start dates are in May/June (Summer)

    + A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship

    + Ownership of challenging and meaningful business-critical projects

    + Drive impact by working in a diverse global, cross-functional setting

    + Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry

    Who You Are

    + Must be current enrolled in an accredited graduate program or a recent graduate of a graduate program with 2 years of work experience prior to graduate school (Graduate programs include MBA, PhD, JD, MD, MPH, MS, and Master's in Data Science)

    Required majors

    + MBA, Masters in Data Science, Masters in Science

    Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications

    + Work experience before graduate school in consulting, finance, marketing, sales, life sciences, healthcare, consumer business, or drug development

    + Strong quantitative and analytical skills

    + Demonstrated ability and experience in effectively interacting with executives and senior leaders

    + Demonstrated leadership skills and experience

    + Excellent communication skills

     

    Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting.

     

    The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location for this position of California is $21.00 - $55.00 per hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
