    Job Description:

    Insight Global's client is looking for an Information Security Administrator to join their family-owned organization and take ownership of security operations. This is a hands-on, on-site role where you’ll manage daily security routines, maintain antivirus and server protections, oversee backups, and implement proactive measures to safeguard data. You’ll also conduct risk assessments, adapt security processes to evolving policies, and train employees on best practices.

     

    This position is ideal for someone who wants stability and a long-term opportunity to expand their skill set. You’ll work closely with leadership, including the COO, and play a key role in moving the company from reactive security to a proactive, strategic approach.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Monitor and analyze logs from SIEM and security tools for anomalies and patterns.

     

    Review backups, overnight threat reports, and address issues promptly.

     

    Maintain and update antivirus systems and ensure server/network/application security.

     

    Deploy and test security patches and Windows updates on a scheduled basis.

     

    Conduct regular risk assessments and adapt processes to evolving threats and compliance standards.

     

    Identify procedural gaps and recommend improvements to move from reactive to proactive security.

     

    Oversee backup processes and ensure data integrity across systems.

     

    Implement and maintain data protection plans for sensitive information.

     

    Develop and deliver security training for employees, promoting best practices and risk awareness.

     

    Collaborate with leadership and IT teams to align security initiatives with business goals.

    Compensation:

    $48/hr to $55/hr.

     

    Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

     

    Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    -5+ years of overall IT experience, including 2–3 years of hands-on experience in a cybersecurity or IT security role.

     

    -Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, etc.

     

    -Experience maintaining antivirus protection systems and securing Windows servers.

     

    -Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls).

     

    -Familiarity with security frameworks (NIST, CIS) and ability to adapt processes.

     

    -Ability to conduct risk assessments and implement security improvements.

     

    -Excellent communication skills for user training and leadership collaboration.

     

    -Ability to respond to emergency security alerts outside of standard business hours when necessary. -Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, etc.

    -Security Certifications:

    CompTIA SecurityISC² (CISSP, SSCP, or Certified in Cybersecurity)

     

    Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate

    -Networking Certifications:

    CCNA or equivalent
