Summary:
Meta's Product Counsel organization provides strategic legal advice and risk mitigation to product, engineering, and business teams across Meta's family of products and services. This team is looking for an attorney who is enthusiastic about technology and its potential for positive impact in peoples’ lives. You will be supporting the product teams that are working on some of our most significant cross-Meta services and technologies for our youth users.To be successful candidates should have flexibility, collaboration skills, and help drive decision making across multiple teams within the legal department, as well as product, engineering, marketing, policy, communications, and other teams. Required Skills:
Lead Product Counsel - Youth Regulatory Readiness Responsibilities:
1. Support our youth risk, product, and engineering teams on projects involving youth regulatory readiness in jurisdictions globally, delivering practical legal risk assessments and mitigation strategies and coordinating with cross-functional partners to drive decisions on external communications, policy development, product development, and product launches
2. Provide holistic legal advice across many subject areas including data protection/privacy, content regulation, online safety, and consumer protection
3. Lead consensus building and drive coordination with other members of the Legal team
4. Maintain subject matter expertise in youth laws and regulations, develop resources for cross-functional partners and other members of the Legal team, and provide training
Minimum Qualifications:

5. J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar
6. 5+ years of experience as a practicing attorney at a law firm and/or in-house
7. Experience with one or more of the following or related legal areas: product, privacy or regulatory counseling
8. Effective communication skills
9. Demonstrated business judgment and client counseling experience

11. Experience with international legal requirements, especially those related to youth privacy/data protection, content regulation, and/or online safety
12. Product counseling experience at a technology company
13. Experience prioritizing work and providing advice in a deadline driven environment across multiple jurisdictions and time zones
14. Experience taking on projects involving different subject matters and supporting a broad portfolio of clients
Public Compensation:
$202,000/year to $274,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
