Driver
The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Medicine- Division of Infectious Diseases has an exciting opportunity for a Part Time Driver to work at the UHealth Medical Campus. The Driver provides secure and dependable transportation services for assigned department(s). Furthermore, the Driver ensures that vehicle operation activities comply at all times with established safe driving methods and standards, University policies and procedures, and external rules and regulationsCore Responsibilities
+ Reports any criminal or suspicious activities.
+ Informs appropriate staff regarding hazardous road conditions and any traffic citations, violations, or incidents.
+ Conducts visual and physical inspection of the assigned vehicle before, during, and after operation.
+ Refuels and cleans the interior of the vehicle.
+ Reports and addresses any maintenance problems or vehicle service needs.
+ Maintains contact with and follows all instructions and directions from managing staff.
+ Follows all established routes and takes detours only when absolutely necessary.
+ Keeps accurate time schedules and other necessary records.
+ Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
Department Specific Functions
+ Safely transports IDEA Team members to and from designated outreach locations during scheduled medical outreach activities.
+ Assists with loading and unloading medical supplies and equipment from the mobile unit as needed.
+ Coordinates with outreach staff to ensure timely arrival and departure from outreach sites while maintaining compliance with traffic and safety regulations.

+ High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience, certification or license
+ Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required
+ Valid State of Florida Drivers License required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
+ Knowledge of :
+ Principles of patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
+ Safety protocols for transporting individuals during medical outreach.
+ Cultural sensitivity and trauma-informed care practices when interacting with vulnerable populations.
+ Basic first aid and emergency response procedures.
+ Skills in:
+ Effective communication with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those with limited health literacy.
+ Conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques in stressful or unpredictable situations.
+ Time management and route planning to ensure timely service delivery.
+ Maintaining professionalism and empathy while addressing client needs.
+ Ability to:
+ Establish trust and rapport with vulnerable individuals while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
+ Recognize and respond appropriately to signs of distress or medical emergencies.
+ Adapt to changing outreach environments and work collaboratively with healthcare teams.
+ Uphold ethical standards and safeguard the dignity and safety of all passengers.
