    Stanford’s Online High School is an accredited, diploma-offering, highly selective independent high school, offering courses for grades 7-12. The mission ofStanford Online High School (OHS) is to foster a worldwide community of intellectually adventurous students and teachers. Our courses, created and taught by specialists in their academic fields, encourage students to continuously develop and test their own views as they integrate knowledge across disciplines. Small class sizes and synchronous class meetings populated by curious and engaged classmates and teachers make learning a meaningful and social experience.     Stanford Online High School is also the new home ofStanford Pre-Collegiate Studies (SPCS), which provides a diverse array of academic enrichment programs that take place mostly in the summer but also throughout the academic year. Held primarily online, SPCS programs serve intellectually curious pre-college students from around the world.

     

    While the Stanford Online High School offices are located at theStanford Redwood City Campus, this position will be performed completely online and requires you to have the ability, technology, and appropriate tools to successfullyperform all job dutiesonline. You must be located within the United States of America and be available to travel to the main campus for important in-person events.

     

    The Assistant Director of Admissions (ADA) plays a pivotal role in determining which applicants to admit to Stanford OHS and our outreach programs. This role requires a careful understanding of the school’s and programs' overall enrollment needs and strategic plans, as well as the admissions standards and associated processes at the school and programs. In addition to providing first and second reads on applications, the ADA interviews applicants for admission and serves as a committee member. The ADA will record informational videos for applicants and will present at live events about the programs. The ADA will also lead a caseload of virtual information sessions for Stanford OHS each fall.

     

    ADA will also serve as the project manager for all financial aid processes for the school and advise on financial aid for SPCS programs andUniversity-Level Online.The ADA will ensure the review happens in a timely fashion, will review a caseload of the financial aid applications, will ensure communication timelines are met, and will assist with communication with families as needed.

    Your responsibilities include:

    + Read, evaluate, recommend, and advocate to the Admission Committee on which applicants to consider for admission based on current university priorities.

    + Act as project manager on medium to large-sized projects/programs by establishing and executing project plans, timelines, tasks, and objectives.

    + Conduct informational sessions for internal and external communities on a variety of subjects, (i.e., academics, student life, admissions), based on university priorities.

    + Manage assigned applicants by researching, compiling, and analyzing various demographics data. Create a proposal for outreach and present findings to management with recommendations.

    + Further develop and strengthen relationships with secondary or university personnel, professional organizations, students, parents, and alumni.

    + Serve as a resource to other departments; represent the unit/department at activities and events, meetings, committees, and conferences.

    To be successful in this position, you will bring:

    + Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience.

    In addition, preferred requirements include:

    + Prior experience with admissions and/or financial aid in secondary education or higher education.

    + Prior experience with Slate.

    Physical Requirements:

    + Frequently perform desk-based computer tasks, seated work, and use light/ fine grasping.

    + Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.

    + Rarely stand, walk, use a telephone, or write by hand.

    This role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States. Stanford University hasfive Regional Pay Structures. The compensation for this position will be based on the location of the successful candidate.

     

    The expected pay range for this position is $95,048 - $110,290 per annum for the Stanford Work Location, and $61,078 - $85,900 per annum for Remote (all other regions).

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
