    Overview: GW Lisk designs, manufactures, and provides post warranty support for complex, high reliability products that support space, aerospace, industrial and automotive applications. The manufacturing environment supports global customers across both high volume/low mix as well as low volume/high-mix products with an emphasis on complex machining, plating, welding, assembly, and testing processes. New product development and introduction is a critical aspect of this role and the successful candidate will be involved in all stages of product lifecycles. Additionally, the successful candidate will take on an active, hands-on role in the continuous improvement of manufacturing capabilities, as well as the ongoing development of manufacturing and testing practices.

    Specific Duties:

    + Support Operations in daily performance, working together to meet or exceed productivity, quality and cost requirements.

    + Identify areas of improvement by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

    + Contribute to product development, PFD, PFMEA and Design For Manufacturing.

    + Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing and testing processes.

    + Design tooling, fixtures, and automation in support of assembly and testing.

    + Evaluates capital equipment investments and prepare cost justifications. Designs and prepares concept drawings of new equipment or modifications to existing equipment. Writes equipment specifications for work with outside vendors. Manages the overall implementations of capital equipment projects.

    + Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods, testing finished product and process capabilities, and establishing standards to confirm and validate manufacturing process requirements. Determines root cause of failure using statistical methods (e.g., design of experiment, SPC) that may result in changes to design, tolerances, or processing methods.

    + Prepared documentation for new and existing processes and engineering procedures. Develops manufacturing work instructions, procedures, and standard work through the use of engineering methods.

    + Optimize floorplans, process maps, and work center layouts.

    + Contribute to training and skills growth of manufacturing personnel.

    + Lead or participate in internal improvement and corrective action teams, establishing root-cause and permanent corrective action.

    + Able to analyze existing production processes, identify work elements, time them and create a work content chart. Able to create Operator Balance Charts for production cells.

    Qualifications:

    Must possess:

    + 2-3 minimum years of related experience in an engineering role

    + BS degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field of engineering.

    + Results oriented attitude with the initiative to manage and drive projects to their successful completion.

    + Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and lead others.

    + Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.

    + Mechanical and technical aptitude with the ability to resolve challenging technical issues.

    Working knowledge of:

    + Precision assembly and testing, including automation and robotics.

    + Networking/interfacing manufacturing equipment and processes for data collection and control.

    + Tooling and fixture design.

    + GD&T and engineering drawing requirements.

    + Metrology and inspection equipment capabilities and practices.

    + Statistical techniques, SPC, GR&R, Process Qualification and Validation.

    + Engineering design, modeling, and analysis software.

    + Design for Manufacturing / Design for Assembly techniques.

    + Microsoft Office applications.

    + Lean manufacturing principals.

    Prefer experience with:

    + Leak testing equipment

    + Industrial torque drivers

    + PLC and robot programming

     

    Compensation: $73,000.00 - $95,000.00 annual base salary based experience
