    Caterpillar’s Law, Security & Public Policy Division (LSPP) is looking for a Senior Paralegal to join the Compliance team. Successful candidates will be process driven, have an interest in legal compliance, be comfortable learning and supporting multiple subject areas, and be organized.

     

    The candidate will have an opportunity to work directly with Compliance attorneys, and other Compliance paralegals and professionals both within and outside LSPP. The position will assist various Compliance attorneys with legal and regulatory tasks to support and protect the organization. The legal work will be under the direction of various attorneys but will require the ability to work independently and take the lead on a variety of projects and initiatives.

    What You Will Do:

    + Prepare quarterly regulatory risk filings, including working directly with Compliance team members to gather andreview responsive documentation from business partners

    + Prepare diligence reports and risk summaries for attorneys regarding potential third party business partners

    + Assist with the maintenance and oversight of company policies and procedures

    + Conduct legal research in support of business needs regarding business courtesies

    + Open, manage, and close matters in accordance with company policies

    + Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal business partners and stakeholders

    + Top candidates will have familiarity with Caterpillar's Ethics & Compliance program or other relevant experience supporting corporate compliance programs.

    What You Have:

    + **Accuracy and Attention to Detail:** Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision

    + **Managing Multiple Priorities:** High level effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation

    + **Confidentiality:** Knowledge of practices and policies governing disclosure of information about the organization, its business activities, and employees; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations

    + **Decision Making and Critical Thinking:** Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment

    + **Effective Communications:** Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors

    + **Legal Analysis:** Knowledge of methods and tools used in legal analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from both legal and factual information

    + **Legal Function:** Knowledge of the major responsibilities, accountabilities, and organization of the legal function or department; ability to provide legal consulting, advice and assistance

    + The primary location for this position is Peoria, IL

    + This is a fully onsite role Monday to Friday in office.

    Summary Pay Range:

    $87,480.00 - $131,280.00

     

    Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
