The Associate Producer is responsible for identifying newsworthy stories, conceptualize and produce rundowns, assists in the production of live shows, prepare, and call supers for live broadcasts. Candidates must have a strong editorial background. Candidates would need to multitask and work in a fast paced, dead-line driven environment with the willingness to work weekends, early morning shift and have flexible hours for last-minute scheduling changes. The candidate must have experience working across multiple platforms, including broadcast, streaming and digital.
Responsibilities:
+ Work live newscasts and special events
+ Assist in all aspects of production, from headline to segments, as needed.
+ Able to request news graphics including editorial and creative process.
+ Prepare and call supers and titles in a live broadcast
+ Newsgathering savvy. Must have social media knowledge and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
+ Contribute to the editorial line of the day
+ Work in collaboration with Assignment Editors, Reporters, production crews and news digital team.
+ Assign and produce news briefs
+ Work closely with Producers and Executive Producers on story planning and coordination
Basic Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or equivalent work experience
+ Minimum 2 years of experience working as a Producer/Associate producer in TV production and/or cable TV
+ Must be fully fluent in English and Spanish (both written and verbal)
+ Prior work experience directing and guiding talent in video productions
Desired Characteristics:
+ Strong editorial knowledge
+ Proven solid writing skills. Excellent grammar.
+ Fully bilingual, Spanish and English proficient.
+ Proficient in I-News and any other system for live news production
+ Proficient in VIZ
+ Accustomed to working in a team and collaborating with all levels within the organization
+ Proven excellent interpersonal skills combined with a strong sense of how to visually tell a compelling story desired
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
+ Willingness to work weekends, early morning shift and have flexible hours for last-minute scheduling changes.
+ Outside of the box thinker
