The Accounting Office, in the Division of Finance and Administration at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Oneonta, invites applications for the position of Revenue Accountant. Reporting to the Director of Finance, responsibilities include managing, reconciling, analyzing, and reporting the university's revenue streams, including tuition, auxiliary, dormitory, fees and other revenue sources. The position also manages daily university cash flow/bank balances and financial aid transactions. This role ensures the integrity of campus financial data to support sound and sustainable management decisions as well as maintain compliance with University, SUNY and NYS policies and procedures.

Duties include but are not limited to:
+ Manage all aspects of campus cash flow including all financial aid funds
+ Record and reconcile revenue transactions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and SUNY financial polices - including scheduling, reconciling and processing of revenue distributions
+ Maintain the University's bank accounts
+ Collaborate with departments to ensure timely and accurate billing and collections
+ Preparation of monthly reconciliations and submission of all quarterly financial reports
+ Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
+ Assist in the preparation of year-end close out and submission of financial reports as required by SUNY, NYS and external agencies
+ Security administration of user access to SUNY & NYS financial systems and other various systems & applications

Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree
+ Three or more years of responsible experience in accounting or business-related field
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
+ Excellent analytical and organizational skills
Preferred:
+ Revenue accounting experience
+ Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or other business-related field
+ Experience working in SUNY or Higher Education setting
+ Experience working in Ellucian's Banner software
+ Experience working with and serving diverse populations
