    This role sits directly under the Safety Manager and is built for someone who’s confident on the floor: visible, professional, and consistent. We’re looking for an upbeat, well-qualified safety professional who can enforce standards without being heavy-handed—clear expectations, real coaching, and a “we do it right” mindset.

    Job Details

    • **Pay:** **$20.00–$24.00/hr** (based on experience)

    • **Location:** Kankakee area, IL

    • **Schedule:** Monday–Friday, **7:00 AM–4:30 PM**

    • **Type:** Contract-to-hire through **Kelly Services** (3–6 months)

    What You’ll Do

    • Partner with the Safety Manager to support day-to-day **EHS and site safety operations**

    • Conduct routine **floor audits/inspections** (PPE, housekeeping, hazards, equipment, ergonomics) and document findings

    • Lead or support **incident reporting** : near-misses, first aid, recordable investigations, corrective actions, follow-up verification

    • Help maintain and deliver **safety trainings** (new hire safety, PPE, LOTO awareness, hazard communication, site rules, refresher topics)

    • Support compliance activities (SDS organization, signage, posted procedures, training records, and basic program administration)

    • Coach supervisors and hourly teams in real time—calm, firm, respectful communication

    • Participate in safety meetings and help drive improvements through observations, trends, and practical solutions

    • Reinforce a clean, organized workplace culture (safety and quality go together)

    What I’m Looking For (Apply Only If You Meet These)

    • **1+ year** safety/EHS coordination experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environments (or strong related experience with documented safety responsibilities)

    • Comfortable being on the floor—this is not a desk-only role

    • Ability to write clear incident notes, complete documentation, and communicate expectations professionally

    • Strong presence: friendly, approachable, and able to hold the line when standards aren’t met

    • Reliable attendance and consistent follow-through

    Preferred

    • Familiarity with OSHA/general industrial safety concepts (PPE, hazard recognition, corrective actions, basic investigations)

    • Experience supporting safety trainings or toolbox talks

    • Bilingual communication skills (if applicable)
