    Summary

    Drive the development of the site Logistics strategies, monitor the team performance and metrics. Incorporate the Logistics vision into all elements of the plan. Recognize subject matter experts on Logistics process, tools and applications. Manage a team of direct and indirect resources to effectively support the execution of the strategy deployment plans. Contribute to multi-functional, regional or global assignments.

    Detailed Description

    + Leads management of logistics solutions for materials availability to support build plans throughout the product life cycle for a specific business unit or customer set.

    + Manages the effort to identify and develop logistics suppliers to meet current and future business needs.

    + Leads efforts to reduce logistics cost and assess/respond to supply risks.

    + Manages the administration and adherence of all site and Global Logistics contracts and agreements.

    + Manages the development of delivery requirements to meet production schedules and inventory objectives for both inbound site needs and outbound customer needs

    + Responsible for customer interface from Logistics including relationship management and as focal point for all Logistics related issues.

    + Participates in business process improvements to help achieve inventory targets and maximize return on investment. Works to ensure Celestica is compliant with customs and regulatory laws.

    + Supports global or local negotiations with carriers to support domestic and international air, rail and ocean transport ensuring favorable rates and cycle times for Celestica.

    + Directly manages a group of SCM employees including employee training, performance, measurement, development, motivation and recognition.

    + Establishes department goals/ measurements and manages resources to achieve these goals.

    Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

    + In-depth knowledge and understanding of global supply chain logistics, trade compliance with understanding how logistics impacts SCM and inventory management.

    + Broad knowledge of an electronic manufacturing environment, materials and processes.

    + Good understanding of IT concepts and integrated business applications.

    + Strong knowledge in all areas of import / export, regulatory and logistics management

    + Excellent analytical, negotiation and problem resolution skills.

    + Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.

    + Expert level Logistics financial reporting ability and budgetary development.

    + Provide guidance and direction to business units to achieve site logistics financial results and maintain strong relationship with GM, Controller.

    + Responsible for annual physical inventory (*if owns warehouse*)

    + Strong knowledge (if pertains) to Free Trade Agreements, HS Tariff, Duty/VAT, ITAR regulations, Sanctions and Embargoes.

    + Strong communication and presentation skills.

    + Significant skills required in multi-tasking and time management.

    + Ability to effectively lead, manage, train and motivate a diverse group of employees.

    Physical Demands

    + Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.

    + Duties of this position require continuous light physical effort and exertion including prolonged repetitive motion, standing, sitting in a confined work space,

    + Occasional overnight travel is required.

    Typical Experience

    + 10 years + in a related Logistics or Trade Compliance field

    Typical Education

    + Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics Management, or related field, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
