Work Specifications – Responsibilities:
Materials Management & Leadership
+ Provide direct leadership, direction, and accountability for the Materials Management Department, including supervisors and hourly employees.
+ Establish daily priorities and staffing plans to support blending and production requirements.
+ Conduct daily departmental meetings to review workload, identify ricks, resolve issues, and communicate schedule changes impacting production.
Production & Blending Support
+ Attend daily Blending Team meetings to collaborate with the Blending Manager and align on the daily production game plan.
+ Coordinate the timely and accurate transfer of ingredients to Blending to support production schedule.
+ Monitor production schedule and respond proactively to changes to ensure uninterrupted ingredient availability.
Inventory Control & Accuracy
+ Oversee the creation, accuracy, and execution of ingredient pick sheets to ensure correct materials, quantities, and lot numbers are issued.
+ Ensure strict adherence to FEFO/ FIFO inventory practices and ingredient expiration controls.
+ Verify that all ingredients staged and issued to Blending are QA released and meet Steuben Foods’ quality standards.
+ Monitor inventory levels and expiration dates to minimize waste, shortages, and production risk.
Systems, Documentation & Traceability
+ Asist with and oversee daily ingredient consumption transactions within the ERP system.
+ Ensure accurate preparation and completion of run files and inventory documentation submitted to Quality Assurance.
+ Maintain full ingredient traceability in compliance with Steuben Foods’ food safety, regulatory, and customer requirements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
+ Attend production scheduling meetings and provide input on materials availability, constraints, and risk mitigation.
+ Partner with Warehouse, Production, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure alignment and execution of production plans.
+ Communicate potential shortages, delays, or risk in a timely manner and drive corrective actions to prevent production downtime.
Continuous Improvement & Compliance
+ Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory accuracy, material flow, and production support efficiency.
+ Ensure department activities comply with Steuben Foods policies, GMPs, food safety programs, and aseptic manufacturing requirements.
+ Participate in audits, investigations, and root cause analysis related to materials management and inventory control.
Education/Prerequisite Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain management, Business, or related field preferred.
+ Minimum of 5 years’ experience in materials management, inventory control, or supply chain within a food or beverage manufacturing environment.
+ Prior experience supporting aseptic or strict sanitation manufacturing operations strongly preferred.
Equipment/Training Knowledge:
+ Strong knowledge of inventory management principles, FEFO/FIFO practices, and ERP systems.
+ Understanding of aseptic processing requirements, food safety standards, and quality systems.
+ Proven leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
+ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000
