Job Summary:
Summary:
The Sr. Materials Engineer (Emeritus) will serve as a key technical advisor and mentor for MMRTG assembly, outgassing, and ambient air testing activities, while providing guidance on NextGen RTG fabrication tasks. Leveraging extensive experience from past RTG programs, this role ensures successful execution of final RTG assembly and supports knowledge transfer to both the MMRTG and NextGen RTG teams.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Act as primary point of contact for MMRTG assembly, outgassing, and ambient air testing activities.
+ Provide technical guidance on NextGen RTG fabrication tasks.
+ Review current procedures and train new staff on updated processes.
+ Partner with the Project Program Manager to lead program execution, including team planning and milestone meetings.
+ Participate in readiness reviews and support customer status calls as needed.
+ Mentor and coach current engineering staff to build technical capability.
Qualifications:
+ Extensive experience with RTG assembly and testing processes.
+ Strong knowledge of materials engineering principles and fabrication techniques.
+ Proven ability to mentor and train technical teams.
+ Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Work Schedule:
Part-time role, not to exceed **12 hours per week** .
Salary Range:
$169,400.00-$225,900.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
