Job Summary and Qualifications

Based in beautiful, historic Charleston, SC, HCA Healthcare’s South Atlantic Division includes 13 hospitals, 14 freestanding ERs and more than 250 outpatient care sites located in nine communities across SC, GA and Jacksonville, FL. We are seeking a Director of Strategy and Business Development to work collaboratively with the SVP of Strategy & Planning, Division leadership and hospital leadership on the analytic assessment of business opportunities. They will identify growth opportunities and work with Division and hospital leaders to design strategy to achieve these growth goals.

In this role, you will:

• Maintain market intelligence on local/regional health care providers and the communities in which we operate

• Works with our elite Decision Support team to obtain and analyze data regarding: competitive environment, market share data, volume, earnings, profitability and commercial mix

• Assess market opportunities and complete due diligence planning

• Conduct special studies to evaluate viability of existing or potential services

• Assist in the development of business cases and capital requests

• Leverage various models that analyze market share, portfolio optimization and growth opportunities. These models are developed with high quality and will likely include attributes such as volumes, financials, sensitivity analysis and scenario planning

• Support CON planning and submissions. Monitor and communicate timely updates regarding CON status for Division's facilities and competitors

• Support the hospitals and services lines in operationalizing their annual and multi-year business plans, including monthly measurement of success

• Align project management and decision support resources to support facility attainment of strategic initiatives

Highly qualified candidates will have:

• Strong organizational and analytical skills

• Ability to assess and leverage data to drive insights and decision making

• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and influence in a matrix environment

• Demonstrated effective presentation, training and facilitation skills

What qualifications you will need:

+ MBA or master’s degree in healthcare administration or related or business field required.

+ 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in business health care industry to include demonstrated success in leveraging data insights to identify opportunities and drive strategy.
