As an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist, you will conduct construction and readiness rounds, perform project startup inspections, evaluate construction permits and review SERS and blotter reports. You will address fire safety questions, assist with hazardous materials management, assess indoor air quality concerns, and participate in readiness rounds, ensuring findings are documented within 24 hours. This role includes overseeing proper collection and storage of hazardous materials, completing weekly inspections of waste accumulation areas, verifying completion and training for waste manifests, and ensuring fire drills and documentation meet Joint Commission requirements. You will also coordinate annual walkthroughs with fire marshals and local fire departments, review and communicate industrial hygiene reports, investigate accidents to identify root causes, and support the closure of OSHA or other regulatory agency reports.
A caregiver in this role will work Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
+ Collect and analyze data to identify adverse trends and high loss potential incidents.
+ Conduct site investigations, participate in root cause analyses and corrective action identification, and prepare reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
+ Conduct classroom and one-on-one or small group training of various EHS topics.
+ Perform audits of EHS programs and practices.
Minimum requirements for the ideal future caregiver:
+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a science, engineering, or safety field; OR, other Bachelor's degree with 1 year of experience in an environmental health and safety field or applicable healthcare area
+ Must possess a valid Ohio Driver's license (VDL) and obtain and maintain eligibility of insurability as determined by CCF's insurance carriers' to operate CCF vehicles
+ Must have own transportation to/from remote job sites
+ Minimum 1 year of experience in an environmental health and safety field or applicable healthcare area if Bachelor's degree is not science, engineering, or safety-related

Physical Requirements:
+ Typical demands require full body motion including ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
+ Ability to use material handling equipment and climb ladders.
+ Ability to wear personal protective equipment including respirators.
+ Ability to use field equipment, computers, and laboratory equipment.
+ Good visual acuity, hearing, and sense of smell.
Personal Protective Equipment:
+ Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range
Minimum Annual Salary: $57,510.00
Maximum Annual Salary: $87,697.50

A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education.
