Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS)** has an exciting opportunity for an **Experienced Tool & Fixture Specialist (Level C)** to join our team in **New Orleans, LA

Position Responsibilities:

+ Performs complex tool setup activities (e.g., alignment, leveling).

+ Performs visual inspections on tools using appropriate documentation.

+ Makes major repairs.

+ Manufactures assembly and fabrication tools using various manual and computer controlled machines, hand tools and precision alignment equipment.

+ Operates various factory support equipment to move materials and tools as required.

+ Provides tooling support to other organizations.

+ Designs various part fabrication and assembly tools per part engineering drawings or customer requests to enable production using computer or paper tool design processes.

+ Determines fabrication and assembly processes for the design.

+ Reverse engineers designs and fabrication processes for parts.

+ Demonstrates functionality of complex fabrication and assembly tools to approving authority by manufacturing first part with new tool.

+ Resolves problems with tool to produce acceptable parts and assemblies.

+ Works under general direction.

**This position is expected to be 100% onsite.** The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

+ 2+ years' experience in maintaining design tools, preferably in a manufacturing environment

+ 2+ years' experience in the use of hand tools, and fabrication equipment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

+ High School Diploma/GED

+ Ability to perform maintenance or repair machinery

+ Experience in maintenance or repair of industrial equipment

+ Ability to maintain a periodic maintenance program in a production environment

+ Basic computer skills- including but not limited to Microsoft Office Applications

NASA Access:

**This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.** This is a NASA safety-sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

Summary pay range: $67,150 - $90,850 USD
