    GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

    A Load Forecasting Intern assists in various areas within the Planning and Market Operations Division related to forecasting, data analysis, portfolio optimization, and supporting the electric power market operations team within AECC. In this position, you will work alongside peers who are versatile, enthusiastic, and strive to push forward AECC’s mission.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    + Assist in creation of analytics-ready data sets.

    + Support development of portfolio optimization strategies.

    + Perform analytical reviews of forecasts and strategies.

    + Evaluate forecast accuracy and usefulness.

    + Assist in creating business intelligence tool reports.

    + Due to our obligation to provide continuous, reliable electric service to our customers, the ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance and the ability to work outside your regularly scheduled office hours when necessary is an essential function of the job.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    + High school diploma or equivalent.

    + Pursuing a degree in Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, Data Science, Data Analytics, or Meteorological Sciences.

    + Adept in Microsoft Office suite.

    + Possesses analytical, mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

    + Detailed and accuracy oriented.

    + High level of skill in analytical writing and technical documentation.

    + Good communication skills.

    + Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

    PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

    + Experience with SAS/R/Python programming.

    + Experience in creating analytics-ready datasets from complex and diverse data sources.

    + Experience with statistical and time-series forecasting methodologies.

    + Knowledge of forecasting accuracy metrics and data science methodologies.

    + SQL programming experience.

    + Experience with business intelligence tools such as SiSense, PowerBI, and Tableau.

    + Experience with AI software's such as ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot.

     

    Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or at any time in the future.
