    The Cloud Media Platform Engineer 1 position exists to support ministry objectives by architecting, designing, implementing, and maintaining training for supporting secure, reliable, and scalable cloud media asset management storage applications. Position responsibilities include availability, performance, efficiency, media organization, change management, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning of ministry cloud media infrastructure. The outcome will be infrastructure for private, public and hybrid cloud systems that support applications, systems and processes which are more consistent, automated, reliable, and observable.

    Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

    + Works on one or more products or projects

    + Implements, manages, and maintains cloud Media Asset Management applications, storage, data, and scales these as needed

    + Architects, manages, and administers cloud Media Asset Management applications and resources on various cloud storage platforms

    + Trains Video and Audio editing staff on the use of cloud Media Asset Management applications and systems

    + Supports Video and Audio editing staff on workflow challenges and changes

    + Supports customer / business requests related to Media assets

    + Partners with other cloud Infrastructure Engineers on architecture and design of multi-storage cloud tiers and the migration and organization of media asset data

    + Partners with other cloud Infrastructure Engineers on Data Protection systems and strategies

    + Identifies and organizes all Video and Audio media assets and works with business stakeholders on media asset data hygiene and retention

    + Develops and documents organizational methods and structure within the cloud Media Asset Management files systems, asset groups, and asset containers

    + Maintains and practices expertise in digital asset organization, metadata standards, and cataloging

    + Implements, manages, and maintains transcoding and A.I. Media Asset Management technologies as needed

    + Works with solution vendors to open and resolve trouble-tickets related to Cloud Media Asset Management applications

    + Maintains competency dealing with manufacturer / vendor / partner sales and support

    + Advises Senior leadership, when needed, on data hygiene recommendations and strategies

    + Monitors and maintains tight cloud storage cost-controls and automated cloud storage tiering mechanisms to maximize cost efficiency

    + Maintains tight relationships, strategies and collaboration with other departments and stakeholders for both Brand adherence and DAM (Digital Asset Management) solutions

    + Works to help align and advise strategy, metadata and integration(s) between MAM and DAM solutions

    + Works to implement and champion Rights Management solutions where applicable

    + Maintain current education on latest industry roadmaps related to the ever-evolving cloud-editing space

    + Expands knowledge of evolving, innovative cloud media technologies and assist with recommendations for implementation and adaptation of new technologies

    + Advises leadership on new technologies that can gain workflow and cost efficiencies

    + Maintains core knowledge on user access and IAM principals, assists in in-app user role creation and user provisioning

    + Documents everything so that observations turn into repeatable actions and into automated processes

    + Maintains, develops, and improves core editing workflow processes and advises on industry best practice

    + Mentors client teams, editing teams and team members as appropriate

    + May be part of the department leadership team, providing specialized feedback, advice, insight, and guidance to the Director as appropriate

    Other Duties/Responsibilities:

    + Be a first responder on-call to provide after-hours and weekend support when necessary

    + Participates in on-going training activities

    + Perform other duties as assigned

    Working Environment/Physical Requirements:

    + On-campus (non-remote) office environment

     

    Frequent sitting and computer use

     

    Occasional travel, domestic or international

    Knowledge/Experience:

    + Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Digital Media, Management Information Systems, Media Production, related field, or equivalent experience

    + Certified Digital Asset Manager (CDAM), related field, or equivalent experience

    + 3-5 years of experience and knowledge digital asset organization, metadata standards, and cataloging

    + 3-5 years of experience and knowledge in broadcasting and media production

    Metadata standards & cataloging

    + Media Asset Management (MAM) systems

    + File formats & media workflows

    + Archiving & preservation

    + Attention to detail & organizational skills

    + Strong experience with change management processes

    Stewardship Requirements:

    Pay Range : $81,120 to $94,120
