    POSITION SUMMARY:Under the direction of the Concrete Scheduling Manager, the concrete dispatcher is responsible to answer phone calls and gather information as well as learn the responsibilities of order-taking and dispatching.

    DUTIES:

    + Visualize, fulfill, and implement the company vision and core values.

    + Maintain open communication with customers.

    + Receive phone orders, gather pertinent information, and enter it into dispatch program.

    + Continually monitor demand, dispatch delivery trucks, and verify each load.

    + Assist customers in problem resolution.

    + Review, understand, and adhere to all union contracts.

    + Maintain insurable driving record.

    + Ensure a safe and healthy work environment at all times.

    QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:

    + High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    + Sedentary work & light physical work: exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally.

    + Repetitive motion associated with operating a computer and other types of equipment.

    + Speaking/Listening: Needs to be able to communicate effectively with customers, supervision, drivers, and follow instructions, and understand safety requirements.

    + Working Conditions:Most of the time is spent in an air-conditioned office environment. Must be able to work long and irregular hours (early and late) during the busy season.
