Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced **RN Manager – PACU** to lead perioperative nursing operations, including **Pre-Op, Pre-Admission Testing (PAT), PACU, Same-Day Surgery, and Endoscopy** services. This role provides **24-hour operational and clinical leadership** , ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, and patient-centered care across all perioperative areas.
The RN Manager is responsible for clinical excellence, staff leadership, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and fiscal stewardship within the perioperative service line.
Facility Overview
This 130+ bed community hospital has served the Fredericksburg area since 2010, offering comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services. The facility includes advanced operating rooms, a 24-hour emergency department, cancer care, imaging services, cardiovascular care, women’s and neonatal services, intensive care, and psychiatric services.

Key Responsibilities
+ Oversee daily operations for Pre-Op, PAT, PACU, Same-Day Surgery, and Endoscopy
+ Manage surgical schedules, staffing plans, productivity, and premium labor utilization
+ Maintain optimal patient flow through effective coordination of staff, equipment, and supplies
+ Develop and manage monthly staffing schedules to ensure appropriate coverage
+ Serve as a steward of resources through supply management and process improvement initiatives
+ Analyze, track, and report perioperative performance and operational metrics
+ Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and risk management standards
+ Participate in performance improvement initiatives and quality assurance activities
+ Uphold ethical and legal standards to protect patients, staff, and the organization
+ Maintain clinical expertise and adapt to evolving perioperative practices and technologies
+ Foster strong interdisciplinary relationships across departments
+ Own and maintain environment-of-care standards for the surgical services department
+ Lead staff development, competency validation, performance evaluations, and corrective counseling as needed
Qualifications
Experience
+ **Required:** Previous nurse manager experience
+ Minimum of two (2) years of recent, department-specific perioperative experience
+ **Preferred:** Charge nurse or supervisory experience within surgical services
Education
+ Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required)
+ Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
+ Master’s degree preferred
Licensure & Certification
+ Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Virginia
+ Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)

**Pay Details:** $50.00 to $70.50 per hour
