Description
Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse (RN) is assigned to the Detroit Health Department Clinic and outreaches as assigned is responsible for administering vaccines to children, adolescents, and adults, collect blood samples for lead screening and confirmation.
Examples of Duties
+ Assess and Administer vaccines according to Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) and Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) guidelines.
+ Store and handle vaccines according to the MDHHS guidelines.
+ Provide evidence-based vaccine education and after care of immunizations.
+ Assist with vaccine management activities.
+ Attend MDHHS trainings and keep up to date on vaccine modules used for trainings.
+ Perform lead screening and confirmation testing per DHD guidelines.
+ Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Completion of a High School Diploma or G.E.D. Graduation from an accredited school of
nursing.
one (1) year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital or clinic setting.
Preferred
+ Associate’s degree in nursing.
+ Three years of hospital or community-based experience preferred.
+ Pediatric immunization experience

City Employees Retirement System
As a regular City employee you automatically become a member of the General Retirement System. This entitles you to a retirement allowance after:
