Job Title: Janitorial Worker

Job Description

This position is a dynamic role within an industrial facility, requiring the candidate to clean multiple areas weekly, including offices, hallways, cleanrooms, staircases, storage rooms, restrooms, and the café. Responsibilities include dusting, sweeping, mopping, operating a floor scrubber, and replacing trash bins. The cleanrooms demand meticulous attention, requiring a body suit, glasses, and hood for entry, and cleaning with specialized equipment like a backpack vacuum and sterile mop. The cleaning routine involves weekly, monthly, and quarterly purges for thorough maintenance. Café cleaning includes maintenance of microwaves, fridges, and countertops.

Responsibilities

+ Clean offices, hallways, cleanrooms, staircases, storage rooms, restrooms, and café weekly.

+ Perform dusting, sweeping, mopping, and operate floor scrubber.

+ Replace trash bins and sticky mats.

+ Clean using specialized equipment in cleanrooms, including a backpack vacuum, sterile mop, and bucket.

+ Participate in weekly, monthly, and quarterly purges for cleanroom maintenance.

+ Clean microwave, fridges, and countertops in the café.

Essential Skills

+ 1+ years of cleaning experience.

+ Positive attitude and personality.

+ Dependable and consistent.

+ Comfortable using a backpack vacuum.

+ Willingness to wear proper lab equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Ability to operate a floor scrubber.

+ Comfortable with janitorial duties.

+ Open to working up to 6 weeks.

+ Ability to clean safely and post wet floor signs.

Work Environment

The role is based inside an industrial facility with two floors, including labs, office space, restrooms, and storage space. You will work mainly independently but occasionally collaborate with partners for specific tasks. The 3rd shift runs from 10 pm to 6:30 am, Sunday through Thursday, with potential for 0-5 hours of overtime. The dress code requires closed-toed shoes and khakis or nice pants, with all necessary cleaning and protective equipment provided for cleanrooms.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
