Job Title: Building Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Facilities Maintenance professional to join our team at a prominent commercial skyscraper in downtown Minneapolis. This role offers the potential for career growth, eventually leading to an Assistant Chief Engineer position with opportunities for internal advancement.
Responsibilities
+ Maintain and repair chillers, VAVs, air handlers, and related systems.
+ Service utility generators, UPS systems, and commercial kitchen equipment.
+ Perform plumbing, lighting, and general mechanical maintenance.
+ Maintain and troubleshoot pumps, cooling towers, and motors.
+ Conduct seasonal work, including small engine maintenance and increased pump volume management.
+ Perform chemical treatment/testing and replace filters and belts.
+ Execute preventative maintenance checks and support critical facility operations.
+ Assist with general facilities upkeep and project work, with minimal painting required.
Essential Skills
+ 5+ years of experience in Building or Facilities Maintenance.
+ 2+ years of experience in HVAC troubleshooting, boilers, air handlers, chillers, and pumps repair.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Proficiency in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, repair work, and handling work orders.
+ Experience with plumbing, including toilets, drains, and faucets.

Work Environment
The work environment is collaborative, emphasizing excellent customer service. The first shift runs from 6 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with flexible start and end times. Training will include partial mid-shift work. Once hired, you will be part of a rotating on-call schedule. The role requires attention to detail and adherence to instructions, with significant interaction with managers and other high-level personnel in the building.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fridley, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
