Job Title: Vessel Welder** **Job Description

Join our team as a Vessel Welder, responsible for welding on a variety of structures including storage tanks, spheres, and water towers ranging from 23ft to 43ft. You will predominantly use stick and flux core welding techniques on vessels and components, with occasional use of MIG welding. The role requires proficiency in back gouging for 100% X-ray welds on carbon steel up to 3 inches thick.

Responsibilities

+ Perform welding on storage tanks, spheres, and water towers ranging from 23ft to 43ft.

+ Utilize stick and flux core welding methods, with occasional MIG welding.

+ Back gouge welds for 100% X-ray inspection on carbon steel up to 3 inches thick.

+ Operate an overhead crane effectively.

+ Fabricate and assemble vessel components with precision.

Essential Skills

+ At least 3 years of experience as a vessel welder.

+ Ability to pass 2G and 3G weld tests.

+ Proficiency in flux core and stick welding.

+ Experience with back gouging.

+ Capability to operate an overhead crane.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Fitting experience is a plus.

+ Ability to read and interpret prints and isometric drawings.

+ Experience with fabricating storage tanks, vessels, and towers.

+ Ability to perform own layouts and fit-ups.

+ Willingness to learn pipe fitting if not already experienced.

Work Environment

Work in a large, non-climate-controlled shop with heavy equipment where safety is a top priority. The schedule includes starting on the day shift from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, with Saturdays as needed. After six months, you will rotate to the night shift from 4:15 p.m. to 2:45 a.m., Monday through Friday, with a shift differential provided.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX 77064.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $27.50/hr.
