Job Title: Crane Operator** **Job Description

As a Crane Operator, you will be responsible for picking up and placing templates for pile locations and supporting crane activities and pile deliveries. Your role will include the daily inspection of tools and safety premises, attending toolbox talks, and maintaining a safe and organized site environment. You will also operate hydraulically and diesel-driven pile hammers with fixed or swinging leads to drive various types of piles, including concrete, sheet, H-pile, and pipe piles. Additional tasks include utilizing vibratory hammers, installing shoring systems, and assisting other crew members as directed.

Responsibilities

+ Pick up and place templates for pile locations.

+ Support crane activities and pile deliveries.

+ Inspect tools and safety premises daily.

+ Attend toolbox talks and maintain a safe atmosphere.

+ Keep the site clean and organized.

+ Operate hydraulically and diesel-driven pile hammers.

+ Utilize vibratory hammers to drive sheet piling.

+ Install shoring systems including walers and struts.

+ Utilize basic load charts for cranes and hoisting equipment.

+ Record pile blow counts.

+ Assist pile crew members and other crews with various tasks as directed by the Superintendent.

Essential Skills

+ Experience with concrete pilings.

+ Previous experience with, and understanding of, the pile driving process and heavy equipment.

+ Ability to read and understand heavy construction plans.

+ Previous experience in a pile driving crew.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in carpentry and understanding elevations is a plus.

+ Must be able to communicate effectively with others.

+ Accustomed to working outdoors with exposure to all weather conditions.

Work Environment

Work will be conducted outdoors in various locations such as NN, Norfolk, Chesapeake, and VB. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 7 am to 4 pm.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
