Job Title: General Production Worker

Job Description:

Since 1939, our company has been providing tires and service to satisfied customers throughout the Midwest. We specialize in refurbishing old and damaged tires to restore them to like-new condition. In this role, candidates will begin in the Re-tread department, which is an entry-level position requiring a proactive attitude. You will conduct visual inspections of tires to prepare them for retreading and receive training on all machines and processes involved in retreading tires. There is significant room for growth within the company, with opportunities to work in multiple departments.

Responsibilities:

+ Tend machines that recap and retread tires for reuse.

+ Push tires against power buffing wheels and use tire holders to prepare tires for recapping or retreading.

+ Install retread rubber on prepared tires.

+ Prepare tires for the curing process.

Essential Skills:

+ Experience in a labor environment such as production, landscaping, construction, lube technician, or tire technician.

+ Ability to use hand and power tools.

+ Machine operation experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

+ 3-6 months of work history in a fast-paced or production environment.

+ 3-6 months of experience using hand tools.

+ Ability to stand, bend, twist, stoop, and perform heavy lifting.

+ Mechanical inclination.

+ Experience with tire tools, alignment machines, air wrench, and using air/temp gauges preferred but not required.

Work Environment

This is a manufacturing/production environment with hook systems for lifting and moving tires from station to station. While there is a rubber smell, it is not overbearing, and the shop is kept clean. The environment may be hot during the summer months due to ovens used for 'baking' on new treads. The position is on the 1st Shift, Monday to Friday from 4:00 am to 3:00 pm, with occasional Saturdays. We offer unlimited growth potential, which is a major selling point for many candidates.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Savage, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
