    JJob Title:** **Welder Helper

    Job Description

    We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented **Welder Helper** to support welding and fabrication operations in a fast-paced shop environment. This role involves assisting welders with daily tasks, preparing materials and tools, and ensuring work areas are clean and organized. You will also handle loading and unloading materials, operate basic hand and power tools, and follow strict safety protocols.

    Responsibilities

    + Assist welders and fabricators with setup and daily tasks.

    + Prepare and stage materials, tools, and equipment for welding and fabrication.

    + Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, tools, and equipment.

    + Load and unload materials and finished products safely.

    + Operate basic hand and power tools as required.

    + Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE (steel-toe boots, safety glasses, etc.).

    + Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

    + Read and interpret basic blueprints and technical drawings.

    + Support assembly of components according to specifications.

    + Inspect and report any issues or defects in materials or assemblies.

    + Collaborate with team members to meet production goals.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with general labor tasks and safe use of hand and power tools.

    + Basic ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.

    + Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

    + Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Ability to stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks.

    + Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.

    Work Environment

     

    Work is performed in a fast-paced, repetitive, pre-fabrication shop environment with exposure to noise and dust. Steel-toe boots and safety glasses are required. Dress code includes long pants and a t-shirt. Typical schedule: **Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM** , with potential Friday work.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fredericksburg, VA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
