Field Service Technician – Build, Diagnose & Make an Impact

Step into a role where your mechanical expertise, problem‑solving skills, and independence truly matter. As a Field Service Technician, you’ll be the go‑to expert supporting customers throughout the Twin Cities, using a company‑provided vehicle to diagnose and repair custom heavy‑equipment systems. Most work is local, with only 3–4 overnight trips per month (primarily to Wisconsin), giving you the perfect balance of field autonomy and home time.

You’ll work on unique, custom‑built equipment—cabling, hydraulics, tubing, electrical systems—where no two jobs look the same. If you enjoy hands‑on troubleshooting, customer interaction, and seeing the direct impact of your work, this role is built for you.

    What You’ll Do

+ Diagnose and troubleshoot heavy‑equipment issues using your knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.

+ Perform hands‑on repairs using hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and your mechanical expertise.

+ Order parts, complete repairs, and verify proper operation—including torque specs, tolerances, pressure tests, and leak checks.

+ Document findings and test results, ensuring accuracy and quality on every job.

+ Communicate directly with customers and supervisors to keep projects moving smoothly.

+ Help plan daily schedules and identify opportunities for future service work.

+ Recommend improvements to processes, tools, or procedures to enhance efficiency and service quality.

    What You Bring

+ 2+ years of field service or heavy‑equipment repair experience.

+ Strong understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and mechanical assemblies.

+ Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics.

+ Experience in the commercial truck, heavy‑equipment, or similar mechanical industries.

+ Comfort using hand tools, diagnostic tools, and equipment such as saws, plasma cutters, or torches.

+ A technical degree, certifications, or structured on‑the‑job training is a plus.

+ Class A/B license and/or ability to obtain a Federal Medical Card is beneficial.

    Why You’ll Love Working Here

+ **$4,500 sign‑on bonus** after 90 days of continuous service.

+ **Company vehicle provided** for all field work.

+ **Contract‑to‑union pathway** , offering long‑term stability and strong benefits.

+ Work with a team of 30 skilled technicians in a modern facility with 30 large bays dedicated to custom builds.

+ Monday–Friday schedule, **6:00 AM–3:30 PM** , with flexibility typical of field service work.

+ A culture that values craftsmanship, independence, and continuous improvement.

g 30 large bays to support custom projects for various companies.
